How to respond to
a “Notification of Provisional Refusal”
issued by the JPO under the Madrid System
The JPO does not accept the indication of goods and services
which the JPO considers too vague to identify.
Even if the said indication is registered in the International Register
or included in the alphabetical list of goods and services of the NICE Classification,
the JPO can issue a notice of provisional refusal regarding this reason.
Applicant can search acceptable indications of goods and services in Japan
by following site.
