Holding for selling fake “Channel” = Suspicion of Trademark Act Violation, Woman arrested

Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Central Station arrested unemployed woman (35), Niiza-shi Saitama, by suspicion of Trademark Act violation on March 6, 2015.  The suspicion to her is to make hair bands attached logos that are similar to luxury brand “Channel” on her own.

She said “I knew that badness” and recognized the suspicion.


The Police said that she had attached logos that are similar to Channel on necklaces, hair bands and piercings.  And she had sold them at JPY 300 – 2000 per one item at the internet shop that she had opened.  She has earned around JPY 1,000,000 since November last year.

 

The police officer found out the selling of fake Channel during cyber patrol.  The police officer searched her house and seized around 480 accessories having fake logos.  She said, “ I had imported the parts from China.”
